The Command to Heal My Ancestors: July Pourings
The biggest Awareness for me in July were pouring The Command Libations over 5 mornings. This was an occasion that allowed me to come into some understanding of the pain and emotional grief that five of my White Elders, my Dear Hearts, were feeling as the country was wrestling with the George Floyd murder. These women recounted to me personally their concerns and from there it was decided to open The Command libations to a diverse communion. Grandmothers of bi-racial children, an experience with systematic racism, fear of the anger and that there was no fix unless we do something.... The question then becomes, What is mine to do? It was personally powerful and I am so grateful. The link is the orientation and the first pouring. After the recording we had a brief discussion about the experience. I will be doing this again soon.
